Another day another ...

The day went well for us. Left home at eleven, stopped off at the bank in Gairloch to replenish our funds, lunch with our friends Andrew and Gail, (proprietors at the Kinlochewe Hotel), on to Shieldaig to deliver an order (and get paid for it), on to Plockton via Lochcarron for another order from the Gift Shop then back on the high road to Achnasheen. Say a couple of hundred miles, many of them on single track Highlands roads. A special kind of driving shared between me and she. The day brightened as we went along our way. How good to see some blue...

Then the otters. By six in the evening we were ensconced in the baronial comfort of Achnasheen's Ledgowan Lodge hotel with our friends Meron and Sandy avec le g&t, la spritzer, deux grande Highland Parks. Great supper then the otter presentation. Two very good and very expert otter folk from Skye used a slide presentation to teach a house full to overflowing about the Eurasian Otter. Its habits and its habitat, its breeding and its feeding: above all about its preservation and the part they themselves play in rescuing orpahaned cubs. Well played the organisers, Jackie and Jim.

Then another fifty miles and home to sleep the sleep of the innocent. (Well...) Another day, another dollar, another brick in that strong tower of learning.
